I don’t know if these books are truly creepy but I’m hoping to read most, if not all of them in October. I’m not big on TBR piles, but I really want to read semi-creepy and dark books for the month of October. Every year in October, I’ve been in a reading slump so I wasn’t able to read creepy novels (and I can’t read a creepy novel in July. That’s just weird tehehe).
I’m currently read A Court of Mist and Fury and so far I’m enjoying it. Let’s see if I like it better than the first one! I really loved the first one, but I’ve heard this one is even better! After that, I’m not sure what I’m going to read. However, I’m hoping to re-read the Need series by Carrie Jones. I read books 1-3 in 2011 (maybe?) and loved them. I just recently realized I never finished the series though so I bought the final book on Book Depository. I hope I still like the series as much as I did in 2011. (:
A Court of Mist and Fury is the second installment in the Court of Thorns and Roses triology by Sarah J. Maas. It’s pretty much a re-telling of Beauty in the Beast in a twisted way that involves faeries. Read the full synopsis of A Court of Thorns and Roses [here]
The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea, I honestly cannot explain what this book is about. It hasΒ mehΒ reviews on goodreads so who knows if I’ll like it. However, it seems like a creepy novel… Read full synopsis [here]
The Replacement, another book I can’t explain what it’s about. The cover is stunning and creepy and it sounds like the perfect Halloween novel. It also doesn’t have great reviews, so i’m hoping I still enjoy it for the most part. Fingers crossed. Read synopsis [here]
I’ve heard a great deal of many good things about Cryers Cross. I think its a book where people start to go missing and the main character trys to figure out why and where they’ve gone. It seems like another good book to read during Halloween! Read synopsis [here]
Betrayed is the second book in the House of Night series (a series with 9, if not more, books….). I remember really enjoying the first book. I’m hoping to read the second. Finishing the series would be such an accomplishment! It’s a series about Vampires at a school and I’m sure a lot of crazy stuff goes down! Read the synopsis of book one [here]
Lastly, again, I’m hoping to re-read the Need series by Carrie Jones. I don’t remember too much about the series besides there are crazy faeries in it and a fantastic quote. Plus the covers are too die for. Read the synopsis [here]
Have you read any of these books? What are your thoughts? What should I read after ACOMAF?Β
Everyone raves about Sarah J. Maas books, and I have yet to read anything by her. I really need to check out her books!
I’ve been wanting to read Devil and the Deep Blue Sea for some time now. I’ve heard mix things, but that’s pretty creepy, so I think that’s a great choice for this month!

She is a pretty good author. I haven’t read Throne of Glass tho so no clue on if it’s better or not from a court of thorns and roses. But I love how she describes the world π
And thank you! I hope I like it. And I hope it’s super creepy βΊοΈ

I haven’t read any of these books except ACOMAF and let me tell you, I LOVED IT! It’s sooo better than ACOTAR, the character development and plots are honestly the best! β€ I don't normally read horrors either bc I get scared easily! Hahaha but I have my own TBR for Halloween, let's hope I actually get through them π as for book recs after ACOMAF… if you're still craving for fantasy, I'd recommend Six of Crows and A Darker Shade of Magic but if you're looking for something light to balance it out, go for PS I Like You and The Way to Game the Walk of Shame. That is if you haven't read them π happy reading! β€

I’ve been dying to read Six of Crows. I read the first book in the Grisha trilogy and loved it so I’m hoping to love six of crows just as much. I’m really loving ACOMAF. I thought the first one had too much description and not enough dialogue so I’m loving this one has much more dialogue. I love getting to know Rhys and his brothers π and thanks so much for the recs!

Enjoy ACOMAF! I was so underwhelmed by the characters in the first book, including Feyre herself (seemed almost like a lesser Katniss Everdeen to me..). But the second book .. wow. The cast of characters is AMAZING and the plot becomes so much broader and more fascinating. Enjoy!!

Yes! I completely agree! Feyre is, in my opinion, so annoying in the beginning of ACOMAF because she’s sad and scared for the first 200 pages but I’m loving all the new cast members. They’re hilarious :3

I love all the fall leaves in your photo – they are so pretty! Autumn’s not really a thing here and we’re ramping up to summer. Great list of books for this month -I haven’t read any of them but they sound great. Like angelicam2009 I keep hearing about Sarah J Maas but haven’t read her yet.
