“Life fractures all of us into little pieces. It harms us, but it’s how we glue those fractures back together that makes us stronger.”

This quote is actually from a book series. The Need series by Carrie Jones, which I’m currently rereading.  It’s not my all time favorite series but it’s super good. Out of all the books I’ve read in my life time, this quote from this series has always stood out. Even when I read the series in March of 2012, it has stayed with me to 2016.

The quote is so true though. Life fractures us time and time again. Maybe it’s losing a job. Maybe it’s not getting the house you hoped for. Maybe it’s from a pet dying. People are constantly hurting us- break ups, fights, friends stabbing us in the back. We can choose to let these fractures heal fractured and broken, making us bitter. Or we can heal them and learn to live with the fractures. We can learn to move on, forgive; thus making us into a stronger, better, new version of ourselves. Shine above the dark.
