Top Ten Tuesday | DNF’ed books

toptentuesdayTop Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018.

This Weeks Topic is “Books you DNFed (did not finish)”

All these books I DNF’ed because I either didn’t like the writing or I thought the character(s) were bland. I think I DNF’ed more of these books at around 50 or so pages in. I didn’t like the characters at all in Beauty Queens. I thought the characters in Meant to Be were super boring. I was bored and I didn’t like the character in Girl in Pieces. And lastly, I was beyond bored and didn’t like the writing style in Tess of the Road. However, we all have different tastes so I still encourage everyone to check out these books (:

  1. Just curious, do you find yourself DNF-ing books you’ve spent money on more or less often than if you’ve borrowed the book or received it for free. Or does it not affect your decision to DNF in any way?

    1. This is a great question! I’ve honestly never really put much thought into it. I think all the books I’ve DNF’ed have been books I bought besides Tess on the Road. The book was an ARC :/

      1. Oh, wow! See I rarely DNF books, but that may just be because I’m not a big risk-taker when if comes to what I pick up to read. If I’ve spent money on a book, I put a lot of pressure on myself to keep reading.

I do think there are a lot of good reasons to DNF a book, though! The main one being if your time is precious and the book is making you hate your life ^_^

  2. Sorry to hear that Girl in Pieces didn’t work well for you. I did enjoy that one. Tess of the Road is still on my TBR so I’ll be curious to see if I can get into that one.
