Down the Rabbit Hole #4

word

Down the TBR Hole is a meme created by Lia @ Lost in a Story.

Most of you probably know this feeling, your Goodreads TBR pile keeps growing and growing and it seems like there is no light at the end of the tunnel. You keep adding, but you add more than you actually read. And then when you’re scrolling through your list, you realize that you have no idea what half the books are about and why you added them. Well that’s going to change!

It works like this:

  • Go to your Goodreads to-read shelf.
  • Order on ascending date added.
  • Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books. Of course if you do this weekly, you start where you left off the last time.
  • Read the synopses of the books
  • Decide: keep it or should it go?laurelsfloweers_0008_vectorsmartobject

The Books:

The Great Book of Amber by Roger Zelazny\\ I’m kind of biased, but I really want to read this simply because the name “Amber” is in the title. It’s some kind of fantasy with an island called Amber. The great book of Amber has books 1-10 in them. It sounds really good  so I think I’m keeping it!  VeridictKeep

Grim by multiple YA authors\\ This book has a lot of good authors such as Rachel Hawkins, Ellen Hopkins, and Julie Kagawa. I was debating on getting rid of this book then I read some of the sample pages and really liked the writing of several\ authors such as Rachel Hawkins. I’m not sold on the cover so I might end up reading it from the library some day but I think I’m going to keep this one as well! At least for the time being since it’s been on my TBR since 2014…. VeridictKeep

Life As We Know It by Susan Beth Pfeffer \\ I read this synopsis again and it doesn’t sound remotely interesting. Honestly, I’m not even sure why it’s on my TBR?? I remember thinking the writing style was good when I read some of the sample, but being 24, I can’t see myself reading this anymore. VeridictGo

Minders by Michelle Jaffe\\ I remember loving this cover when it first came out; however, I’m not sold on the story line anymore. It sounds interesting, but it doesn’t sound like something I would really enjoy anymore. VeridictGo

The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss\\ I’m not a big fantasy fan but this book sounds amazing. The writing sounds amazing. Everything seems to really enjoy the story. I bought it for my boyfriend over the summer. He read it and enjoyed it so I think I’ll borrow his copy one of these days… for now I’ll keep it! VeridictKeep

Phoenix Island by John Dixon\\ Why did I add this as a want to read book?? I honestly have no clue. I really don’t. It doesn’t sound like anything I’d be even remotely interested in. VeridictGo

The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay\\ This book is a keep for sure. The cover is gorgeous. It’s been on my TBR for ages because I haven’t gotten around to reading it but still sounds amazing. I also really trust Jamie’s opinion at The Perpetual Page Turner and she really enjoyed the book. That’s what really sold it for me! VeridictKeep

Plus One by Elizabeth Pama\\ At first, I really enjoyed this cover but now it just seems… cheesy? The synopsis sounds really interesting and unique. I might end up reading it some day but it’s not at the top of my list. I think I’m going to have to let this one go for the time being. Veridict: Go

Something Real by Heather Demetrios\\ This sounds like a book about a celebrity who isn’t a celebrity anymore and tries to live a normal life. It sounds interesting but the cover, to me, is absolutely hideous. Honestly, I don’t think I’d read this for the mere fact of how much I hate the cover. I am a terrible person. Maybe on day I’ll get it from the library! Veridict: Go

The Good Girl by Mary Kubica\\ This sounds like an interesting story. A girl that leaves with a stranger and gets kidnapped? For some reason, this books always make me want to read them. I love a good mystery novel. I’m hoping to read this some day. Hopefully sooner rather than later! VeridictKeep
