Down The TBR Hole #6

word

“Down the TBR Hole” is a meme created by Lia (@Lost in a Story).

Most of you probably know this feeling: Your Goodreads TBR pile keeps growing and growing, and it seems like there is no light at the end of the tunnel. You keep adding, but you add more than you actually read. And then when you’re scrolling through your list, you realize that you have no idea what half the books are about or why you added them. Well that’s going to change!

It works like this:

  • Go to your Goodreads “Want to Read” shelf.
  • Order by ascending date added.
  • Take the first five (or ten, if you’re feeling adventurous) books. Of course, if you do this weekly, you start where you left off the last time.
  • Read the synopses of the books.

Decide: keep it or should it go?

The Books:

The Great Book of Amber by Roger Zelazny \\ This book has been on my TBR since 2013. I’ve been wanting to read it for ages. Maybe I will read it one day. It’s just been on my TBR for so long that I doubt I’ll get around to reading it any time soon. I think I will let this one go for now, so I have space for books I really want to read! 🙂 Verdict: go

Lying Out Loud by Kody Keplinger \\ I really loved The DUFF by Kody Keplinger; however, the more I read the synopsis, the more it doesn’t sound like something I would enjoy. I’m not huge into lying. If I see this book around on my library apps, I might give it a go. But I don’t think I’m going to go out of my way to buy it. Verdict: go

P.S. I Like You by Kasie West \\ I absolutely adore Kasie West. I haven’t read a book by her yet that I didn’t like. I really like the premise for this one. Finding love through song lyrics? Sign me up! It sounds good-cute. Verdict: keep

I Am the Messenger by Markus Zusak \\ I’m pretty sure I bought this book recently. I don’t remember, but I am fairly certain I have the physical copy. Because of this, I am letting this book go. If I don’t have it in my possession, then hopefully I can get it soon. Verdict: go

The Smell of Other People’s Houses by Bonnie-Sue Hitchcock \\ I’ve had so many opportunities to get this book. Every time I saw it on Book Outlet, I didn’t get it. I’m not really sure why. It just never sounds good at the time. I think that is a sign that this book needs to go. Verdict: go

By Your Side by Kasie West \\ A book about being locked in a library with a boy? Sounds romantic. He is said to be the bad boy type? Sign me up. I live for the bad boys that turn out to not be all that bad. I’m excited for this story. I need to buy soon! Verdict: keep

The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller \\ I honestly have no idea what this book is really about. I just know that it is about Greek mythology. I live for mythology. I haven’t read a book about it yet that has disappointed me. I hope this one is not the first. I need it now! Verdict: keep

Graceling by Kristin Cashore \\ This book sounds very intriguing. I love a story about a little forbidden love. It’s been on my TBR for a long time. I’ve heard amazing things about it. I will read it one of these days, gosh dang it! Verdict: keep

Lucky in Love by Kasie West \\ Mostly just want to read this because it’s a Kasie West novel. It also sounds cute. I think this might be one of her lower-rated books, but I would still like to read it. Verdict: keep

The Fill-In Boyfriend by Kasie West \\ I think I added every single Kasie West novel at once! XD I’m not sure why, but I love a fill-in boyfriend story. I think this is why I loved The Proposal. Well, that and because it’s super funny, lol. Verdict: keep
