“Down the TBR Hole” is a meme created by Lia (@Lost in a Story).
Most of you probably know this feeling: Your Goodreads TBR pile keeps growing and growing, and it seems like there is no light at the end of the tunnel. You keep adding, but you add more than you actually read. And then when you’re scrolling through your list, you realize that you have no idea what half the books are about or why you added them. Well that’s going to change!
It works like this:
- Go to your Goodreads “Want to Read” shelf.
- Order by ascending date added.
- Take the first five (or ten, if you’re feeling adventurous) books. Of course, if you do this weekly, you start where you left off the last time.
- Read the synopses of the books.
- Decide: Should it stay or should it go?

I HOPE YOU ALL HAD AN AMAZING HOLIDAY! I thought I’d be adventurous and do 12 books today! (I was also just enjoying making the frames XD) Anywho, here are the books from my goodreads TBR 😀 (p.s. it’s hard to remove books and make my TBR smaller when I keep adding books!!!!)

Call my Evie by J.P Pomare \\ Adult, Thriller
This book sounds so interesting. I don’t remember adding it to my goodreads. Not even sure how I acquired it but I think I’m going to keep this one a little longer! Maybe I can get to it someday! 😀 Verdict: Keep
The How & The Why by Cynthia Hand \\ Young Adult, Contemporary
I think I originally added this because I loved Cynthia’s Unearthly trilogy; however, I just can’t picture myself reading this anymore. It doesn’t sound interesting. It kind of hurts my heart but I think I know what I need to do. Verdict: Go
People Kill People by Ellen Hopkins \\ Young Adult, Poetry
Okay, I was considering removing this from my TBR but I read the previous and became entranced all over again! It sounds really good. I loved how powerful Ellen’s voice was in Crank. I’m interested seeing how this was one goes! Verdict: Keep
Never Have I Ever by Joshilyn Jackson \\ Adult, Mystery
I was contemplating this one. It sounds interesting enough. I tried reading a few pages of the first chapter and felt kind of meh about it so I think I’m going to discard it. Maybe I’ll read it from the library around October when I feel the need for a spooky read! Verdict: Go

The Girl Who Could Move Sh*t With Her Mind by Jackson Ford \\ Adult, Sci-Fi
If you saw my recent post, Top Ten Tuesday | Books I Hope Santa Brings, you know that this is one of the books I requested for Christmas! It sounds sooooo good! I’m keeping it for now! Maybe I can remove it after Christmas 😀 Verdict: Keep
Imaginary Friend by Stephen Chbosky \\ Adult, Horror
So, this book sounds intense! It sounds like the perfect read for Halloween! The first couple lines in the first chapter are super good too! I’m keeping this one for now! Verdict: Keep
After the Eclipse by Fran Dorricott \\ Adult, Mystery
I actually really like the cover of this one! The synopsis doesn’t sound intriguing to me anymore, though. I might read it one day from the library but I don’t see that happening any time soon. I think I have to part ways with this beauty. Sad day. Verdict: Go
Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor \\ Young Adult, Fantasy
Okay, pretty sure I’m keeping this just because. I’ve been wanting to read this for AGES but haven’t gotten around to it. I’m going to try and make it priority to read in 2022! Verdict: Keep

The Man I Love by Suanne Laqueur \\ New Adult, Romance
I was thinking about removing this but read the synopsis and found it intriguing all over again. There is a shooting at a theater so I know it’s not going to be an east read but it sounds so good. Verdict: Keep
Broken Beautiful Hearts by Kami Garcia \\ Young Adult, Romance
This book sounds good and has good reviews but I can’t see myself ever reading it. It does deal with domestic violence so beware if you’re interested in read it! I can’t say I’ll never read it but it’s not something I want to pick up anytime soon. Verdict: Go
The Most Fun We Ever Had by Claire Lombardo \\ Adult, Contemporary
This is another book where I’m not sure why I added it. It does not sound like something I would enjoy. It’s also over 500 pages. That seems like too long for just a contemporary book. I’m going to let this go to make room for other books I’m excited for. Verdict: Go
The Library of Lost and Found by Phaedra Patrick \\ Adult, Mystery
I tried reading this a long time ago on audiobook but was in a reading slump. I was also just starting to listen to audiobooks so I couldn’t get into it like I wanted to; however, I would still love to give it a try again some day. For now I’ll keep it! 🙂 Verdict: Keep
This time around I feel like I’m keeping a lot more books that I’m letting go off! Hopefully this doesn’t turn around and bite me, hehehe.
The statistics
Let go of: 5
Decided to keep: 7
